Craggy Gardens is located between mileposts 360 and 370 north of Asheville, NC. A high-elevation area, these rugged mountains offer not only stunning scenery but plenty of opportunities for hiking, picnicking, and a visitor center and museum that highlights the cultural and natural history of the area.

Directions

There are three main access points into the Craggy Gardens area: the picnic area at milepost 367.6, the Visitor Center at milepost 364.4, and the Craggy Pinnacle parking area at about milepost 363. These are about 30 minutes north of the city of Asheville, NC and about 20 minutes south of the Mount Mitchell access road (NC Hwy. 128).
