About the Area

Black Balsam Knob is located in the high mountains south of Asheville, NC, at the junction of the Pisgah Ridge and the Balsam range. Balds soaring to more than 6000 ft. in elevation, coupled with
wide open views owing to the area’s uncharacteristic lack of trees makes the area extremely scenic and popular.
